DAY NUMBER ELEVEN
08.26.2008

I don't think this is what that had in mind when they developed the run-flat tire!

TF 11 racing down the highway at 50 mph with siren blaring and lights flashing.

Weapons of mass destruction?
Kentucky's strike force?

The plain clothes taxation and revenue development program was out in force.

ChaaChinggg!

Blaine and Tom go to White Castle.
NPH was no where to be found but......

Tom managed to nibble his way thru two whole sliders.....
He ponders how these might be better on a bed of lettuce.
Hmmm..... a slider salad?

Now Tom..............this is the way to enjoy a slider.

On to Oak Ridge, Tennesse and the Energy and Science Museum.

Only in the rest room of a scientific facility would you find a sign like this posted!
More than you ever wanted to know.

Tom gives a try at assembling a newclur device.

Atomic bomb manufactured the month before Blaine was born.
Was that July 1935 Blaine?

Now when I went to Lawrence Livermore Lab yada yada yada............

A really not-so-fun drive down from Knoxville,TN to Ashville, NC............
We even had to put the top up... ;-(
Bad weather rained down.........
truck crashed in front of us...
luckily we were able to get around it before another vehicle crashed into it.

Just down the road this semi had just struck a pickup.

Finally made it to the motel in Greenville..........more than ready for a stop.
Blaine never ever wants to hear how it rains in the PNW cuz we got nuttin like this!
In for the night to try and dry our stuff out........
