DAY NUMBER TWO
08.17.2008

Starting Mileage of the trusty Green Hornet

Blaine* insisted that we leave by O'Dark 30 and we were only 30 minutes late.
*Bravo Sierra

The Sun Also Rises in Oreegun. That might make a good book title.

The navigator is on the job giving precise turn-by-turn instructions to the pilot.
How he does that while alseep is unkown by many.

We didn't know that they had opened a Disneyland in Portland.

Bill Sanborn prepares the "Upstart" for our seagoing adventure.

World famous wildlife photographer and Captain (in training) navigates the estuary.
Guidance provided by B & B (Bill and Blaine) Whether needed or wanted...

Blaine takes the tiller and roars down the Columbia at 3.6 knots.
He now has a square sunburn spot on the back of his head.

Now if I go that way I can take out those two kayakers.

After the cruise we had a great lunch provided by our host.
Thanks Bill!!!!

"Now we came into this town called Midwest and, and, uh no comment..........."

The obligatory Z-in-the-side-view-mirror picture. Check that one off.
Dave and Carol convoyed with us up the Columbia River highway until they headed home.

They call it Rooster Rock?
Tom doesn't recall seeing any roosters that look like that back on the farm.

Multnoma Falls is still spectacular at 70 mph and in the smoke.

Golden nugget gas (9.2 gallons) flows into Blaines roadster. Only 65.8 left to go.

Dr Carlos performs his magic on the roadster................now good as new !
Blaine thinks with the gloves and all he should have be working on the other end.

Deni adds her comments to the traveling "BMW Thank You!" hood.
Our own version of the brother-hood of the travelin hood.

All in all a great day for traveling, sailing and signing....
Still lots-o-space on the hood for all those along the way that wish to "sign on".
