DAY NUMBER FOUR

08.19.2008

They do entry gates right in Montana!

Wildlife photog extordinaire in his element.......

Starting up the Going-to-the-Sun Road . Not too many mini vans on the road….yet

As Blaine negotiates the first tunnel, Tom records it....

Blaine said he would come back and pick him up.....

The mud wasn't all that deep so Blaine figgered he could walk....

This couple is from Norman, OK and of course talk turned to football...

They graciously bestowed forgiveness on Blaine for the Ducks kicking "their" a**es..

Which Blaine graciously rejected....

Tom needs to go but the stop sign says NO!

These really cool shuttle buses were quite a sight. Everyone on board seemed to be having a great time.

The vehicles in the foreground show perspective of size...

The Triple Arches were completed as part of the Going to the Sun Road in 1933.

They just celebrated the 75th anniversary of the completion of the road in June of this year!

Tom insisted on ordering a Big Mac but Blaine explained, wrong arches dad.

Looking east to the summit of Logan Pass.

Very impressive even through a smokey haZe.

Logan Pass summit @ 6646 feet and a parking lot with a 40 minute wait sign.

Luckily the sign lady let Tom use the facilities earlier or we might have been in trouble.

We were blessed with this view of St Marys Lake while descending from the heavens above.

Well, Cut Bank certainly has a distinct honor. Thank goodness Blaine packed-a-parka.

Sugar you in there?  Big Daddy is here....

New name???

Perhaps "Peeping" Tahoe Tom?

"I thought you would be taller."

Blaine darn it, I told you not to have the chili cheese omlete!

Did you even pack the car washing supplies.

Roaring through Shelby, Tom barely had time to snap this photo.

Blaine is certainly well recognized around the US.

We even crossed the Clark river more times that Tom cared to count.

Now if Blaine can only find where to pick up the key to the county we'll be set!

Apparently they are not too concerned with the size of their carbon footprint...

We only counted 12 bales of hay being transported by this non renewable resource consuming beast.

Again, with roadster production moving to Germany, we continue to explore alternate transportation.

With the border patrol right behind us and a load of arms in the trunk for a certain WI lawyer,

we decide against a left turn at this point.

Now for a good nights sleep in Malta...  At least we thought a good nights sleep...

More on early morning trains and cats next posting......
