DAY NUMBER TWENTYONE
09.04.2008

We started the day leaving Page and going over to the Glen Canyon Dam.

Quite an impressive structure holding back Lake Powell.

We think the green behind the turbines was a nine hole golf course

Blaine was up to some rafting, but we could not find the down elevator.

We did find Tom's carbon foot prints.

Security at the visitor center was extremely tight.
Blaine had to take his pocket knife back to the car.
Only thing missing was a body search.
Other than the restrooms and the book store we couldn't figure out what they were protecting...

This is Lake What's It or something like that!
@ 55MPH

We happened on a little burn as we started through Arizona.

Excuse me Sir, did you know there is a conflagration just across.......
Oops, I almost stepped in the............

Oh well, I guess the fire is not critical. Time for a photo op.
If Nero can do some fiddle playin, surely we can take some pictures.
Blaine, yes we can and stop calling me Shirley!

Somtimes checking the right front tire pressure yields some nice shots.

The pressure checked and we hit the road again.

Didn't know they had shops that specialized in that sort of endeavor.

Lefty's Hideout and Restaurant in Cedar City Utah, provided us with fine mexican haute cuisine.

We topped off the meal with some peanut butter pie...............Yummers

We were extremely lucky to find the motel outside Delta Utah where we attempted to stay in 2006.
But, unfortunately they were full up again.

However, the management allowed us to take a photo to match the 2006 picture on the hood.
Must have a new grounds keeper in view of the new finely manicured lanscaping.

After we left the motel, we saw some real Utah cowboys rounding up the herd.

You can tell they are not Texans............................wrong hats!!

You know you're in "real" cowboy country when the trailer door is held shut with baling twine.
Stopped at Horns-a-plenty in Utah for a photo op.

But, Horns-a-Plenty free information was not to be found.
False promises.........

Being as highway 50 is the loneliest road in America we were able to use some of the car's 4 cylinders....
For any law enforcement who may come across this... Errr that is in kilometers so not to worry...

The sun sets over Ely Nevada as we stop for the night.
Tried to get a room at the what we thought was the Four Seasons, but it turned out to be the Four Sevens.
They only had one smoky room available as the, Professional Cowboy Bull Riders Association was in town for the big event.
Before Blaine could make it out of the fine establishments office Tom had aquired six new friends.
You can't leave him alone for even five minutes......
Brandel, the Belle of Ely, signed the hood as the bull riders looked on.
Four out of five had official hats on, the other guy transported the bulls.......really!
On to Tahoe tomorrow.
